LETTERS

Hello Joe
Long time since we've talked. My dad, HORACE PLEMONS got a certificate from the Governors office. He received a call to come to Montgomery, AL and then met with the Governor and he presented dad with a certificate for winning the National Senior Games held in Baton Rouge, LA. It was the National Senior Games where all state winners meet for the title of National Winner. Mom and Dad of course win in Alabama every time in order to be allowed to go to the Nationals. They play in events such as shuffleboard, basketball; spin rod casting, volleyball, table tennis (ping pong), etc. Dad's cousin CHESTER HALE and his wife NELLINE, and my sister Bootsie (VENITA CAMPBELL) are all involved in the Senior Games. Mom and Dad said they have so many medals over the years they are going to take them back to the states they won them in this year. (they have boxes and boxes of them) they used to be proud to wear them but after so many now they just want to win and that's good enough for them. Let me know if you received the scanned attachment. and that it is a certificate (I didn't name the file and with my new business I want to make sure it's not a motorcycle club patch.)

June 8, 2002 - Dear Warren – We have been in Illinois and I thought that I would check the phonebook. When we lived up there, ten years and eight months ago, we were the only Plemons in the book. I found three of us listed. There was a Charles Plemmons, in Belleville; David Plemons, in Alton; and Sheila & Kevin, I think also in Belleville. I thought that I wrote the addresses down but I didn’t. We’ll probably go up again in September, but Maybe you can check them out on the computer.

I don’t know if we’ll make it to the reunion next weekend or not. Harold is under the weather a little and I am not feeling too great either. I hope you all have a good time. - Karen

Hi – It’s been a while since I have written you. I think my subscription may be running out. Did you get my last letter with the “family tree”? We have a new Plemmons. My nephew, Kenny Plemmons and wife Amy have a little girl, Alexis Faith Plemmons. She was born on April 25th. Alexis grandfather is my brother, Don Plemmons, her great-grandfather was my dad, Woodrow Wilson Plemmons, great-great-grandfather was Marian Richard Plemmons, and great-great-great-grandfather was Levi Plemmons (?), I think. Anyway, she is a beauty! I’m enclosing some money for my subscription. I hope you and your family are all well. Take care, Vicky

Hi Warren: Sorry you couldn't make the reunion. I had hoped to see you and Joe there.

My Brother, Sister-in-law, Sister, Myself and Wife were there. It was interesting to meet with a group with the same last name (somewhat).

Enclosed a check for $ 50 for Branches. I saw a copy of Branches from 1988. The one that had the information of my Dad and our family. I would have liked one of them. George
