ONELIST PROJECT
Ordinarily, I wouldn't post an e-mail message to the web site, but this exchange describes what the project is all about and asks for your help in making the whole thing work. Please give us your feed-back! Let us know whether you think that the project is worthwhile and whether you will use the features described. Thanks - Mike, Warren, & Joe

I have been pretty busy taking care of my young bride and have gotten behind considerably on a number of things. The hospital is 65 mile away and I have spent a lot of time at the hospital and traveling there and back.
You remember a couple of years ago Rebecca broke her ankle in three places while visiting a cemetery in Sweetwater. During the healing progress one of the breaks crushed and the ankle healed crooked. We got her in Bethesda Naval Hospital to have that corrected. They took a piece of her hip-bone and grafted it to the ankle in an effort to fix it. The area where they took the piece of hip bone became swollen and was oozing and the area was red. We thought for sure an infection had set in. The Doctor also thought it was infection. He hospitalized her again and opened up the incision. It turned out not to have any sign of infection. As one of the nurses put it "there was a gosh awful hematoma". They cleaned it out and stitched her back up. She is now home and enjoying the good life of being waited on hand and foot by yours truly.
Could you go back to square one and bring me up to date on the particulars of just what onelist is? What does it do? How can I participate?
I am sorry I lost you on this one but I think you will understand the priority of what I needed to take care of.
Joe

I've always thought that it would be useful for us to have a mailing list for those interested in the Plemons/Plemmons etc family. After searching for one that gives the members a broad range of options and control, I came across OneList.com. It allows members to choose how they receive messages:
Individual emails
Daily digest of messages
Web retrieval (useful for those who would rather not receive emails)
The site provides a calendar, file storage area, database, polling area and much more. To see a full list of features, go to the following URL:
http://www.onelist.com/info/features.html
The list is ready for anyone who wants to join. Below is a list of addresses you can use to
sign up, unsubscribe, post a message (you must subscribe before you can post), contact the list owner and access the group via the Web:
Addresses:
Post message: plemons@onelist.com
Subscribe: plemons-subscribe@onelist.com
Unsubscribe: plemons-unsubscribe@onelist.com
List owner: plemons-owner@onelist.com
URL: http://www.onelist.com/group/plemons
I sincerely hope that you find this list to be a useful tool.
Sincerely,
Michael Plemons
=========================
I'll do my best to describe the OneList Project.
I found an internet service that we can use to keep the BRANCHES people connected. Instead of sending messages to contacts via your email list, you should eventually (if this works) be able to simply write to plemons@onelist.com and your message will be delivered to everyone who has accepted our invitation to join the list.
Messages sent to plemons@onelist.com are archived. Members can read them at the following address:
URL: http://www.onelist.com/group/plemons
I've finally been able to give you and uncle Warren Moderator status. That should give you a large amount of control over the site if I've set it up correctly.
I wrote the above description for Unk. He'll add it to the Spring 2000 issue soon:
Write soon and give our love to Rebecca.
Mike
P.S.
You can test the list by sending any ol' message to plemons@onelist.com. We can always delete messages (or edit them in the archive if needed). Keep in mind that messages sent to that address will be distributed to all members. As I write, we have five who are helping us test the site:
You and Warren are on the list as moderators.
Sid gets her messages at work and has helped me a lot in setting this up.
Patty, my sister, gets copies at her home account.
and me.
Feel free to invite others at your leisure.
