SUBJECT: Branches

Hi Bruce
I will try this to see if I have a current email for you.
Your letter with a very nice contribution towards the cost of publishing Branches arrived today. Warren and I appreciate very much your support. I will forward the letter, check and article "SPRING CREEK" by Mary Jane Plemmons to Warren. Sounds like it would be a wonderful story to include in the March 2002 edition. Warren just recently made distribution of the Dec edition.

We had a wonderful Christmas. We went over and had Christmas Dinner at my son, Joe's house. His wife fed 22 people with plenty of food left over.

Next reunion is scheduled for 14, 15, 16 June 2002. Janet Webb and Roy Plemmons will be hosting it again. As time move on and plans are brought together we should be able to have more detailed information in the March issue of Branches.

Warren –

103 address labels along with a check to help defray the cost are on the way to you.
When I was in Florida visiting my brother he asked why he wasn't getting Branches. I told him it is because he hasn't sent in his subscription payment. He said he never got a notice. I told him instead of sending out notices, which would constitute an additional mailing, we put the expiration date on the label.
This go around I have added those that expired Dec 2001 but we never heard from. That is why there are 103. Think about a statement on the back bringing attention to the cost of printing and mailing. Maybe it will prod those that overlook payment to send in a check. –

Joe

I'm cleaning out notes on Plemons and ran across this. Maybe you have seen it, but wondering if have any connection to Plemons.

Tyrell County, NC, September 1755. ROSANNAH PHLAMANS exhibited a petition praying an order for administration on the estate of her deceased husband JAMES PHLEMAS granted and she inters Jacob Blount security in the sum of 200 pounds pro. money. (An inventory of the estate of JAMES PHELMAS deceased was proved in open court by the oath of ROSSANA PHEMANS.) Note various spellings.

Information in Tyrell County, NC minutes, page 6, Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, 1755 thru 1761, book 2. Transcribed by Betty Fagan Burr. Printed by Mrs. Frances Terry Ingmire, 10166 Clairmont Drive, St. Louis, MO 63136, c1983.

(Joe notes) Tyrell County in 1790 was on the east coast of NC, a considerable distance from Burke and Buncombe County where we know Plemmons/Plemons lived at that time. I do not know what the geographic area of Tyrell County was back in 1755.

Also, I found this:
Plemonstall parish 1558 Ches 4-1/4 miles NE Chester comprising of townships Hoole, Pickton, Mickle Trafford, Bridge Trafford, pop. 2,936.
In: Frank Smith, compiler, "A Genealogical Gazetteer of England," (Baltimore, Genealogical Publishing Co., 1968), p. 413.

I now have Family Tree Maker and am entering J. B. and my families. I didn't know I had so much information!!

Hi Warren,
Thought I would first check to see how you and your family are doing, since I haven't heard from you in such a long time. As for us, we are finally getting back to normal, I guess. So much has happened in the last year, and especially in the last three months.
I also was looking over the Hooker information you sent me a while back, now that I have a little time, and found something I wanted to clear up something you have on Rachel's first husband, George Malone. The James & Lavina Wilkey Malone weren't his parents. The reason I am pretty sure of that is, they were my great-grandparents. Their daughter, Delia Victoria Malone was my maternal grandmother. As far as I know James William and Lavina Wilkey Malone, only had two sons: John Quince Malone - b. 24 October 1873 - d. 24 August 1948; and Cameron James Malone - b. 14 July 1884 - d. 01 March 1960. They also had 7 daughters. If you are interested in having their names and dates I would be glad to send them to you. I have checked all of the information I have and could find on them, including census records, and there was never a George mentioned. If he were their son, then what Virginia Vaughn said, about him being from Germany could definitely not be true. I have been trying to get Virginia to send me her Malone information, but so far I have had no luck. I believe she thinks he was their son. I have no idea where all of her information came from, so I have not been able to verify any of it. Until I talked to her by phone, a few months ago, all of the info I had, that came from her, was second hand from a cousin of mine. But never was I told that she thought he was James and Viney's son.
For some reason, it is hard to get any of the Malones to talk about their family history. But today a descendant of Rachel's called me wanting information on some of her family, which I now have. But she also gave me some information I thought you might like to have.
This lady is descended from another daughter of Rachel and George Malone, Luzane Malone who married Samuel Russell (her name is listed as Louisa Ann Malone on their marriage record, but this lady says her grandmother said it was spelled Luzane), on 18 October 1877, in Loudon, TN.
Here is the list of their Children she gave me: * means I have this person's death record, which if you are interested in having, I will gladly send you a copy.
* James Russell - b. 15 February 1878 - d. 7 February 1952 – Death record lists James as widowed & lists 3 sons: Bill, Duberry, & Homer.
John Thomas Russell - b. 19 June 1880 - d. 23 August 1936
* Josie Russell - b. 17 June 1887 - d. 6 April 1973
Lillie B. Russell - b. 25 June 1890 - d. 1902
* Ora Russell - b. 3 July 1893 - d. 2 March 1967
Nancy Ann Russell - b. 8 June 1895 - d. 4 February 1978 - married a Bill Scott
* William Henry Russell - b. 26 June 1897 - d. 29 January 1968 – married Irene McDonald. - Death certificate list two daughters: Mrs Sue McDonald & Mrs. Ora Mae Godsey. & 3 sons: Elmer, Raymond, and Boyd Russell.
Lou Russell (Female) - b. 3 March 1902 - d. 9 September 1957
I have death records on some of Sam & Luzane's grandchildren also. Since it is late and I need to separate them from all of the other Russell's (connected to the Oody family) I will get the rest of the info to you later, if you are interested in having it.
Hope everything is well with you, and hope to hear from you soon.
Brenda
