OBITUARIES


SALLIE KERLEY PLEMONS, 79, of Rossville, Georgia, died in her home on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002.

She was a lifetime resident of this area, where she was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rossville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Plemons, Sr.; son, LeRoy Plemons; and daughter, Juanita Plemons. She is survived by daughter, Darlene O'Connor of Rossville; son, Carl, Jr. of Jonesboro, GA; sister, Millie Childers of Ashland City, TN; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 pm Friday, Nov. 15, at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Defore officiating. Interment will follow in TN-GA Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-9 pm today and all day Thursday at the W. L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.


MARY LILLIE DENTON PLEMONS, 90, of Rossville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, Nov 2, 2002, in San Luis Obispo. California.

She was born in Crossville, Tennessee on 14 Jul 1912. As a young woman she worked for Peerless Woolen Mills, where she met CHARLES FRANKLIN PLEMONS. They were married on 25 Apr 1936 and settled in Rossville. They had one son, CHARLES FRANKLIN PLEMONS Jr. in the early 1950s.

The family moved to Michigan where Mary worked for Chrysler Corp. in Detroit. After leaving Chrysler, she worked for several restaurants in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. After retiring in the early 1970s, she moved to Flat Rock, Alabama. In 1986 she moved to Pasadena, California, and in 1977 she moved to San Luis Obispo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; two brothers Thomas and Wallace Denton; and seven sisters, Zora Campbell, Flora Hawk, Lavenia Collins, Lizzie Henderson, Addie Tudor, Ollie Wilson and Helen Beutel. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, CHARLES FRANKLIN and EVELYN PLEMONS of Shell Beach, California.
